Frequently Asked Questions

  • A mobile veterinarian provides high-quality, in-home pet care—so your pet can be seen where they feel safest. At Paws at Home Mobile Veterinary Care in Malvern, PA, we reduce the stress of travel and waiting rooms, allowing for calmer visits, more accurate assessments, and a better overall experience for both pets and their families.

  • Scheduling is simple—fill out our contact form, send us an email, or text or call (484) 922-9774 to request an appointment.

Initially, you will receive a four hour arrival window. The day before your appointment, you will be notified of a one hour arrival window. Because mobile veterinary services involve travel between homes, we are unable to provide a specific appointment time. This allows us to give each pet the time and attention they deserve.

  • Our mobile veterinary practice offers a range of in-home diagnostic services, including blood work, urine testing, stool testing, and in-house evaluation of ear and skin conditions.

We carry commonly used medications, and additional prescriptions can be ordered through our online pharmacy and delivered directly to your home.

  • As a mobile veterinarian serving Malvern, PA and surrounding areas, we do our best to accommodate urgent or same-day visits when our schedule allows. While availability may vary, we strive to provide timely, compassionate care when your pet needs it most.

  • To help ensure a smooth, low-stress visit, please have your pet easily accessible when we arrive:

    • Cats secured in a bathroom or carrier

    • Dogs on a leash

This allows us to begin the exam calmly and efficiently. If a pet is not accessible within 10 minutes, the appointment may need to be rescheduled, and the house call fee will still apply.

  • Costs for a mobile veterinarian are comparable to traditional veterinary clinics, with the addition of a $125 house call fee. Additional charges may include exams, diagnostic testing, and medications.

For households with multiple pets, only one house call fee is applied—making in-home veterinary care a convenient and cost-effective option for families.

  • Most in-home veterinary services—including exams, vaccinations, and diagnostics—can be performed right in your home. When needed, we may use our mobile veterinary clinic for certain aspects of care. Dogs over 20 pounds briefly step into the clinic for accurate weight measurement to ensure proper dosing and treatment.

  • While we provide comprehensive in-home veterinary care, some services—such as X-rays, ultrasound imaging, surgery, and dental procedures—are not available in our mobile setting.

If advanced care is needed, we will refer you to a trusted local veterinary clinic and help coordinate the next steps in your pet’s care.

  • Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, major credit cards, and financing options such as Affirm and Klarna to help make veterinary care more accessible.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule your mobile veterinary appointment, we ask for at least 24 hours’ notice.

Appointments canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur the $125 house call fee, as that time has been reserved specifically for your pet.
